TEASER: Chapter Twelve, "Iniquity and Retribution"
Here is a little sample from Chapter Twelve, "Iniquity and Retribution"
"Private Edward Smith was in the third wave of American infantry to go “over the top” into “No-Man’s Land” between the Allied and German lines. As the rolling artillery barrage began, the sounds were deafening, but Edward kept his cool. He fought valiantly, killing several German soldiers when he was part of a detachment that overran a German machine gun emplacement that had been decimating the advancing Allied force."

TEASER: Chapter Eleven, "Iniquity and Retribution"
From "Iniquity and Retribution," Chapter Eleven
"The knowledge of a potential inheritance got Edward’s attention. He assumed that Millicent’s share would be sufficient for them to not have to scrimp and save to buy their vacation cottage in Illinois on the Fox River. Overall, the situation was not as mournful nor as hopeless as Myrtle and Millicent wanted to believe it to be. As long as the will was not contested, the probate process would be relatively quick and painless for those involved."

Teaser: Chapter Ten, "Iniquity and Retribution"
As promised, here is a teaser from the next chapter:
"Each day, the two sisters managed to
find something to argue about. One day, it was men and marriage; the next, it
was religion or politics. Regardless of the argument, Millicent always seemed
to be the most closed-minded and least likely to concede a point to her sister.
For her part, Myrtle was always open to new ideas, was very liberal in her
views, and felt that society as a whole had a duty to take care of, not
penalize, those who were less fortunate. Overall, the constant bickering made
the last three weeks of Millicent’s pregnancy quite miserable."
Happy Reading,
